Police have arrested a bus driver after he was seen running a red light and crashing into a Perodua Myvi at a junction along Jalan Klang Lama, Kuala Lumpur, on Saturday, 25 April

Dashcam footage that has since gone viral shows the bus speeding through the red light before hitting the Myvi as it was crossing the junction, then continuing to move forward after the impact.

According to Malay Mail, Petaling Jaya police chief ACP Shamsudin Mamat said the incident is believed to have occurred around 6.20pm and involved a total of three cars.

Police received a report about the crash at 8.06pm the same day.

"One driver sustained minor injuries, while the other drivers were unharmed," he said in a statement.

The driver, in his 40s, has been remanded for three days starting Sunday, 26 April

Shamsudin added that the driver tested negative for alcohol and drugs during initial screening, and the case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving.
