A woman in Sungai Petani, Kedah, jumped out of a moving car on Wednesday, 12 November, fearing her husband might hurt her

Captured on another vehicle's dashcam, the video shows the woman escaping from the passenger side before her husband stops the car and chases after her.

According to Berita Harian, Kuala Muda district police chief ACP Hanyan Ramlan said the woman has lodged a police report about the incident, which took place along Jalan Lencongan.

The woman claimed the incident began around 6pm at a petrol station when her husband, from whom she had been separated for a month, suddenly appeared and forcibly pulled her into his car

Hanyan said the woman struggled to free herself during the journey and eventually managed to open the door and jump out.

The couple reportedly married in October 2024, but the woman claimed she had endured ongoing domestic violence and left her husband a month ago after she could no longer tolerate the abuse.

Police said they have detained the husband, and investigations are underway.
