Videos of a heated confrontation between two drivers in Sungai Petani, Kedah have gone viral
Two videos on the Facebook page Penduduk Sungai Petani Kedah show a white Nissan Grand Livina ramming into a grey Toyota Corolla, which then spins around and repeatedly slams into the side of the Grand Livina.
In the footage, the impact tears off the Corolla's front bumper and damages its hood, while the Grand Livina's side is left badly dented.
Police have confirmed they are investigating the incident, which they believe began as a hit-and-run
According to the New Straits Times, Kuala Muda police chief ACP Hanyan Ramlan said the incident happened at 1.35pm on Thursday, 14 August, when the Corolla driver first hit the Grand Livina.
"The Grand Livina driver then chased the Corolla for about 1km.
"When the Corolla driver realised he was being followed, he turned his car around and crashed into the right side of the Grand Livina," he said.
Hanyan added that the Corolla driver then got out of his car and verbally abused the Grand Livina driver before fleeing the scene
The case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act for reckless and dangerous driving, and Rule 10 of the Road Traffic Rules for failing to control a vehicle.
