A 30-year-old man was arrested after crashing into multiple vehicles while trying to escape police at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) on Monday, 30 March
According to the New Straits Times, KLIA police chief ACP Ravi Munusamy said the incident occurred around 4.30pm when officers attempted to stop a red Honda Civic at Terminal 1 for an inspection.
Instead of complying, the driver sped off towards Level 3 of the airport, triggering a brief chase.
"The suspect rammed five vehicles along the way before he was detained," Ravi said.
Dashcam and CCTV footage of the incident has since gone viral on social media, showing the suspect driving dangerously through the airport pick-up lanes while trying to evade police.
Police checks later revealed the suspect has 31 prior criminal records and one outstanding drug-related offence
The case is being investigated under Section 186 of the Penal Code for obstructing a public servant, Section 427 for mischief causing damage, Section 15(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act for drug use, along with several traffic offences.
