Video Shows Heavy Storm Blowing Restaurant Employees Off Their Feet In Kepong

A video showing employees being swept off their feet at a restaurant in Kepong, Kuala Lumpur has gone viral

In the 51-second video, restaurant employees can be seen rushing to secure items on the tables as strong winds blow several chairs into the car park.

At one point, a man slips and falls to the ground, while other employees struggle to move forward, leaning against the powerful gust.

"Don't go there! Don't go there," a person can be heard shouting at a child.

The video is believed to have been recorded yesterday, 5 October, in Taman Usahawan.

Meanwhile, another video posted by a community Facebook page shows canopies belonging to street food vendors being blown away by the storm

Tree branches can be seen falling, and metal rods can be heard hitting the ground.

In a statement, Kepong member of parliament (MP) Lim Lip Eng said a severe thunderstorm and hailstorm struck Kepong yesterday, causing several large trees to fall.

"I would like to inform you that we are already on-site to monitor the situation and ensure that aid reaches those who need it.

"Our highest appreciation goes to our heroes from the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) emergency squad, volunteer firefighters, and all the agencies who have been working tirelessly since earlier to clear roads, remove fallen trees, and assist residents. Your service and commitment are greatly valued," said the MP.
