A 24-year-old sexual assault victim played a key role in the arrest of her alleged assailant by assisting police in a sting operation
According to China Press, police launched an investigation immediately after she lodged a report.
The victim, who works as an insurance agent, agreed to cooperate with authorities by acting as bait, arranging to meet the suspect under the pretext of asking him to delete videos he had recorded during the assault.
The suspect agreed to delete the footage when they met.
"Previously, he had filmed videos of me being humiliated and used them to threaten me. When we met, he showed me that he had deleted the videos," she told the Chinese daily.

However, upon spotting the officers, the man allegedly sped off in his van, leading to a high-speed chase.
Police pursued him from Taman OUG, Kuala Lumpur, to Puchong, Selangor, where he was eventually apprehended.
The victim also cooperated with police yesterday, 2 March, to undergo a suspect identification process.

The sexual assault reportedly took place at the victim's Taman OUG apartment last Thursday, 26 February, after she arranged for a delivery service to transport items from her previous residence to her new home
When the suspect, a deliveryman, arrived at her home, he allegedly claimed he needed to enter her bedroom to look for certain items.
Once inside, he reportedly pushed her onto the bed and began removing her clothes.
The victim resisted, prompting the suspect to allegedly smother her face with a pillow and choke her.
He also threatened to kill her and took several videos of the assault.
The suspect later allegedly apologised to her via text messages.
