On Saturday, 24 October, after a Malindo Air Flight, Boeing 737-800, had just taken off from Kota Kinabalu airport, an e-cigarette battery inside a passenger's bag suddenly burst into flames

The incident, which occurred at around 6:45 pm while the flight was en route to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2, gave Malindo Air passengers and flight crew some very anxious moments

After the incident, while the injured passenger had lodged a police report, Malindo Air did not lodge any complaints over the incident

The passenger has brought new meaning to the oft-said adage, "Man on Fire".
