Two flight attendants were among five individuals who tragically lost their lives in a four-vehicle accident last Thursday, 27 March

In a series of TikTok videos, Mohd Nur Afiji Asamad's sister shared heartfelt tributes to her late brother, describing him as a devoted and hardworking individual who always prioritised their family's wellbeing.

She shared that he had always dreamt of becoming a flight attendant and worked tirelessly in various part-time jobs to achieve his goal.

The sister explained that he had retaken his SPM examinations and paid for tuition, as he only held a vocational certificate. Additionally, he spent a year on flight training courses, investing thousands of ringgit, and endured several failed interviews after completing his training.

Despite these challenges, he resumed attending interviews after the COVID-19 pandemic and finally succeeded.

"He cried so much and performed a gratitude prayer when he was hired as a cabin crew member.

"He never gave up. He was so strong and kind. He always said he wanted to buy a car for our parents, frequently asked if we had enough money, and always bought us flight tickets even if we did not ask," she wrote in a post yesterday, 3 April.

In the days leading up to his passing, he displayed great kindness and generosity, giving money to his family, taking them to Melaka and a zoo, and caring for their needs despite his busy schedule.

Mohd Nur Afiji was the front passenger in a Proton X50 driven by fellow flight attendant Iklil Nuraudah Muhammad Redzaa, which was involved in the accident

Both flight attendants died on the spot.

The other three victims were Nasarudin Pardi, 36; his wife, Siti Khazira Bani, 35; and their daughter, Mariam Nasarudin, 2, reported the New Straits Times.

The accident occurred on 27 March at KM58.1 of the North-South Expressway around 11.30pm.

It was caused by the burst of a lorry's front tyre, causing the driver to lose control and crash into a Toyota Camry.

The lorry then swerved into the opposite lane, crashing into a Proton X50 and a Honda Stepwagon.
