A fake message claiming that 31 January will be a public holiday for Malaysia has been circulating social media and WhatsApp
The message claims that the holiday is due to the "Agong's Inauguration Day" that was previously reported by The Star to take place on 31 January.
However, there has yet to be any official announcement of it being a public holiday for the country
According to The Star, Chief Secretary to the Government Datuk Seri Dr Ismail Bakar is the only person who can officially announce the holiday.
A special meeting will be held on 24 January among the Malay rulers to decide who will be the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong.
