Transport Minister Anthony Loke has announced a new summons payment structure called "The Less You Delay, The Less You Pay", which will take effect from 1 January 2026
According to Malay Mail, under the new initiative, Loke said motorists will enjoy lower compound rates if they pay their summonses earlier.
"This is because discounts based on programmes are unfair to those who are responsible and pay their summonses early," he said during a joint press conference with the Home Ministry at the Parliament building today, 22 October.

The new payment structure is as follows:
– 1–15 days: 50% discount
– 16–30 days: 33% discount
– 31–60 days: Full compound rate (no discount)
– 61 days and above: Court action
These incentive rates will not apply to non-compoundable offences such as driving without insurance, driving without a Motor Vehicle Licence (LKM), or displaying a fake LKM.
Loke said that during the transition period, the public can still settle existing compoundable summonses issued by the Road Transport Department (JPJ) and Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) at a discounted rate of up to 70% from 1 November to 30 December 2025
"After this period, the 'The Less You Delay, The Less You Pay' principle will be fully enforced, and no reductions will be offered for summonses unpaid within 60 days," he said, urging motorists to clear outstanding summonses before the deadline.
Payments can be made through the MySIKAP portal, MyJPJ app, MyBayar PDRM app, or at all JPJ and PDRM counters and kiosks.
Meanwhile, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the discounts aim to reduce Malaysia's backlog of unpaid traffic summonses, currently estimated at RM6.6 billion.
