“The Disease Has Spread To M’sia” — Man Fakes Accident By Lying On Car Bonnet In Penang
The man is accused of attempting to extort money by staging an accident.

In a Facebook post on Wednesday, 30 April, community news page Penang Kini reported that a driver at Queensbay Mall witnessed a man running towards their car and throwing himself onto the bonnet, seemingly attempting to fake an accident.
"Yesterday (29 April), at the Queensbay parking lot, as soon as [the man] saw a car approaching, he dashed towards it. He ran and lay in front of it, acting crazy. [He's] probably trying to extort money.
"Everyone, please stay alert if you come across something like this. It's best to call the police immediately," read the post.

Many netizens likened the incident to a "disease", with one person saying, "The disease has spread to Malaysia! Thank you, US and China. We trade more than goods, we also import culture now."
"It has reached our land now. This is a serious disease. Once more people start doing it, the disease will spread," read a top comment.
One Facebook user said, "If something like this happens, please honk for a long time. Also, dashcams are extremely important. Whether your car is old or new, install a dashcam for your safety."
"The behaviour is like that of mainland China now," another person remarked.
