A Thai man required medical attention after he locked up his genitals to keep them secure
A 28-year-old man in Buriram Province, Thailand, prompted a call to rescuers after trapping his penis in two rings, allegedly out of fear that someone would steal his large genitals.
The Wang Krut Rescue Unit was dispatched by Satuek Hospital on Monday, 6 October, to assist in the removal of the rings as the hospital lacked the proper tools for the job
Upon arrival, rescuers found two rings — one plastic and one steel, believed to be from a fishing rod — on the man's genitals, according to Thai media Khaosod.
Due to the constriction, the tip of the man's genitals had become swollen to the size of a fist. Rescuers used a grinding machine to carefully remove each ring in a procedure that lasted 10 minutes.
It remains unclear if the man was suffering from a mental illness or was under the influence of substances
According to The Thaiger, the man reportedly told rescuers, "I'm afraid a village health volunteer will come and take my penis away because it's a size 69", referring to the extra-large-sized condom he typically wore.
Authorities now plan to conduct a psychological evaluation to determine his state and provide appropriate treatment.
