Police in Pattaya detained a 34-year-old man and a 61-year-old woman after they were caught engaging in sexual acts on a public beach during the early hours of 23 January

The incident, which occurred at 4.19am, resulted in both individuals being charged with public indecency after being spotted by bystanders, according to Channel 7 News.

The man, identified as British national Euripides Loucaides, and the woman, identified in local reports as Nutcharee, were caught on video during an explicit act before being approached by officers, as reported by Amarin TV.

Although the pair initially tried to flee, they were intercepted and taken to a local police station for questioning.

Loucaides, who appeared heavily intoxicated, told authorities he was unaware of his actions at the time

Meanwhile, the woman claimed she did not realise such acts were illegal under Thai law.

Reports indicate that Nutcharee, who is fluent in Thai, insisted she was a Singaporean citizen residing in Thailand for her studies.

However, local residents and regular beachgoers refuted her claims, describing her as a transient who appeared homeless

Witnesses also noted that she frequently exhibited signs of mental instability.

Police have since classified the case as a violation of public order laws, with both Loucaides and Nutcharee facing administrative fines of up to 5,000 baht (RM660).
