A 16-year-old girl in Kuala Terengganu was found to be seven weeks pregnant on Saturday, 13 July as a result of rape
Astro Awani reported that the pregnancy was uncovered at the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital in Terengganu at around 9.30pm on Saturday.
The girl was initially accompanied by her aunt to the hospital following signs of vomiting and stomach ache.
The teen revealed to doctors that she had been raped by her father for the last four years
According to Sin Chew Daily, the victim said that her father began raping her a year after her mother's death. She was 12 years old at the time.
"Her father has continuously raped her since then. The last incident was two months ago," Terengganu Criminal Investigation Department chief ACP Razmi Mohd Gunnos was quoted as saying by Sin Chew Daily.
Razmi added that the 16-year-old dropped out of school in April due to the financial situation of her family.
She had also been threatened by her father to not tell other family members about the crime.
The victim, who is the fourth child in her family, lived with her father, stepmother, and her siblings.
