Temporary airspace closures will be in effect around Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) from 26 to 31 August in conjunction with Malaysia's 68th Hari Kebangsaan celebrations
In a statement on 23 August, Malaysia Airlines said the airspace will be closed daily from 8am to 12pm during the six-day period, with exact timings varying by day.
The airline confirmed that several flights scheduled to depart or arrive during this period will be rescheduled to accommodate the temporary closures.
Passengers are strongly advised to check in online up to 48 hours before departure and arrive at least four hours ahead of their rescheduled flights to allow sufficient time for check-in, security screening, and document verification.
A list of affected flights has been published for reference.

Meanwhile, AirAsia, while not announcing any retimed flights, has reminded passengers flying out of KLIA to plan their journeys carefully during the closure period
In a statement on 25 August, it said the temporary airspace closure is to facilitate rehearsals and the Hari Kebangsaan flypast in Putrajaya.
The airline cautioned that there may be heavier-than-usual traffic at check-in counters, security, and immigration due to the long weekend holiday.
Travellers departing from KLIA Terminal 2 are advised to complete self check-ins online — which are available as early as 14 days before departure — as well as arrive at least two hours before domestic flights and three hours before international flights.
