A teacher from a religious school in Batu Pahat, Johor, has been remanded for seven days after allegedly instructing two female students to undress as a form of punishment

According to Berita Harian, Magistrate Nuraisidah A Rahman issued the remand order against the 29-year-old suspect yesterday, 25 November, to facilitate investigations under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.

Police arrested the suspect after a report was lodged at the Batu Pahat district police headquarters on Monday, 24 November.

Based on the police report, a victim claimed that it has happened twice, once in 2023 and another last year, where she was asked to cover her eyes with a handkerchief

She claimed that, while blindfolded, the teacher ordered her to remove part of her clothing and told her not to tell anyone about the incident.

The victim said she was subjected to this punishment once after accidentally spilling food on a table during class.

Meanwhile, the other student claimed this has happened to her many times before, with the suspect calling her into a classroom alone before committing the act.
