A woman in Kuching landed herself in hot soup yesterday when she was stopped by cops over a "#TangkapNajib" sticker she had affixed to her car

According to 30-year-old lawyer Murnie Hidayah, nearly 10 police officers approached her in Satok, Kuching to question her over the sticker that they believed referenced Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak. It was alleged that they had done so under orders from their superiors.
Kuching Police District Officer, ACP Roslan Bek Ahmad said they stumbled upon the car barring the #TangkapNajib sticker around 3pm near Jalan Kulas. A few police officers also acted to peel off the sticker from the windshield.
They waited for Murnie to return to her car to approach her with questions regarding the sticker.
After a two-hours of questioning and statement taking, the 30-year-old lawyer was informed that **she is being investigated under Section 504 of the Penal Code that deals with "intentional insult with intent to provoke a breach of the peace"** and the statements taken would be used to assist in the investigation.
Section 504 of the Penal Code states that it is an offence to "intentionally insult, and thereby gives provocation to any person, intending or knowing it to be likely that such provocation will cause him to break the public peace, or to commit any other offence"
The law prescribes a maximum punishment of up to two years in prison, a fine, or both.

The incident has attracted much traffic from social media users, with many conveying their support and words of encouragement to Murnie
It even caught the attention of a Senior Research Officer from the Selangor State Legislative Assembly, Azira Aziz

#TangkapNajib was the theme for a rally organised on 1 August in Kuala Lumpur. The rally was organised by youth group Demi Malaysia with the aim of demanding the prime minister's resignation.
The rally which took place in front of Sogo shopping complex resulted in 29 people being arrested.
