Muar member of parliament (MP) Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman paid tribute to singer and actress Bella Astillah, calling her an "extraordinary woman" for showing up to support him at the Court of Appeal

Bella was seen arriving at the Palace of Justice in Putrajaya as early as 8.15am yesterday, 17 April, and was spotted chatting warmly with Syed Saddiq's family members, who were also present for his appeal hearing.

"As many of you know, she's an extraordinary woman.

"Thank you for being here and for the support and encouragement you've shown. I truly appreciate it," he said during a press conference held outside the Court of Appeal.

The court's decision will be announced at a later date.

"This iron lady has been by my side since 2020. Even while I was under investigation, she was battling cancer. She fought cancer twice. From my mother, I draw the strength to keep fighting," he said.

Shariffah Mahani Syed Abdul Aziz, visibly emotional during the day's events, thanked the public for their support.

"I thank everyone for their support and prayers. I've seen with my own eyes my son's struggle. I hope more young people will rise and fight for the truth," she said.
