Wei Guiyun, a 40-year-old single mother from China, has gone viral for her 16-year career hauling heavy cement bags to raise her two children
Wei captivated the Internet after sharing her long-running work on construction sites, where she has been carrying heavy materials for nearly two decades.
Since 2010, she has balanced raising two children with physically demanding labour after separating from an "irresponsible" husband who refused to help.
Working in Qidong County, she earns three yuan (RM1.74) per bag for every floor climbed, often making 300 yuan (RM174) on a 100-bag day
At her peak, she carried up to 150kg per trip and continued working through her menstrual period, eventually raising her monthly income to 9,000 yuan (RM5,217).
Her body transformed over the years, with her weight rising to 75kg as she developed muscles she described as "hard as rock".
Since March 2025, she has documented her life as 'Sister Yun the Porter', earning 2,000 yuan (RM1,159) a month from 450,000 followers
According to South China Morning Post, Wei moved to Guangzhou last summer to join a moving team, where she is currently the only woman and the oldest member.
"When I am extremely tired, my body wants to give up, but in my heart, I never do," Wei said, adding that she hopes her daughter will enter a good university.
