A Singaporean trainee surgeon in Australia has been charged with 133 counts of secretly filming hundreds of medical colleagues in hospital restrooms
Ryan Cho, 28, allegedly committed these offences since 2021 at three Melbourne hospitals where he worked and studied medicine. The 460 victims reportedly include doctors and nurses.
Cho is accused of placing hidden cameras in women's toilets at the three hospitals

The scale of the alleged crime is staggering, with over 10,000 videos and photos reportedly recorded. Reports suggest he went to extreme lengths, tampering with door locks and blocking toilets to force victims to use the specific stalls where the hidden devices were installed.
Originally from Malaysia , Cho later became a Singaporean citizen. He gained Australian permanent residency in April but faces deportation if sentenced to 12 months or more in jail.
Cho was arrested on 10 July and charged with stalking and using hidden cameras before being granted bail

However, on 25 July, police re-arrested him and added five more charges, including producing private images, using optical surveillance devices, and failing to cooperate with investigators.
Then, on 21 August, authorities confirmed a further 127 similar charges, bringing the total to 133. Investigators have warned the count could eventually reach 500.
During his initial arrest, police analysed two mobile phones and a laptop seized from Cho's home, allegedly uncovering more than 10,000 videos and images
The files were reportedly organised into folders that referenced the Austin Hospital, the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, and the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
According to 9News, the court was told that the recordings, created between 2021 and 2025, purportedly show staff using toilet or shower facilities, with their genital and anal areas exposed. While police have taken statements from 200 witnesses, the actual number of alleged victims remains unknown.
Cho has been released on bail on the condition that he lives with his parents, who moved from Singapore to Melbourne ahead of his release. They were required to post a AUD50,000 (RM136,340) surety.
