In a shooting-related crime that occurred at 2.28pm on Wednesday, 6 July, along Jalan Hujan Emas, a mother was fatally shot by two unknown assailants on motorcycles while she was driving in OUG
According to The Star Online, the shots were fired at close range. In the shooting, the victim's eight-year-old daughter was also shot and is in critical condition. She was sitting in the front passenger seat.
The national English daily [reported](http://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2016/07/06/woman-killed-child-critical-in-taman-oug-shooting/) that the woman worked as a real estate agent, who was driving her luxury MPV in Taman OUG. The police believe that five shots were fired at her car with one hitting the 32-year-old woman in the neck.
"We rushed to the scene and found the woman's body motionless in the Toyota Vellfire. Based on our investigations the victim had come out to eat at a restaurant nearby. Police have sent the 8-year-old to Universiti Malaya Medical Centre
While the police are yet to establish a motive for the murder, the case has been classified as murder. ACP Rusdi, meanwhile, has urged the public with any information to contact the police hotline at 03-2115 9999 or visit the nearest police station.
