A petrol station along Jalan Skudai, Johor Bahru, was forced to temporarily shut down after a Singapore-registered car accidentally drove off with the fuel nozzle still attached, tearing down an entire pump booth

The incident, which reportedly occurred around 10.15pm on Friday, 17 October, was captured in several photos and videos by local residents, reported the New Straits Times.

In one video, a petrol station worker can be seen sprinting towards the collapsed kiosk while a man exits the Singapore-registered vehicle.

One witness said her father saw an employee waving frantically at the driver before the accident happened.

"My family quickly left the station because we were afraid it might explode," she added.

A station employee confirmed that a police report had been lodged and the insurance company was notified following the incident.

Meanwhile, the affected pump remained cordoned off while safety checks and cleanup were carried out.

The driver, a Singaporean man in his 30s, reportedly apologised repeatedly and cooperated fully with staff and authorities. He stayed at the scene until 3am to help resolve the matter with police and station management.
