The 13 year-old boy's lawyer, Ibrahim al-Bathani says the victim has a disability

The victim also happens to be a local Kuwaiti citizen who suffers from a partial mental disability.

The convicts aged between 18 and 24, come from 4 different backgrounds, with one listed as a stateless person

The atrocious act was carried out by four Kuwaitis, an Iraqi, a Yemeni and a stateless person.

They threatened to leak an explicit video of the rape to silence the boy

Some parts of the rape were filmed and used to threaten the boy, saying the video will be uploaded on social media if he speaks about it to anyone. Some of the defendants' phones were found with the aforementioned videos containing the revolting act.

The final ruling will only come after the Kuwaiti supreme court places its verdict

In April, the Kuwaiti court overturned a sentence for a ten-year jail term and has transitioned into a newer appeal, which instead places a death sentence by hanging.

However, this will only come after the Kuwaiti supreme court approves the sentence.
