A routine meal at Dataran Centrio, Seremban, turned into a nearly hour-long standoff after a customer alleged he was "slaughtered" by a nasi kandar restaurant's pricing

A viral video shows a man claiming he was initially billed RM120 for food and drinks for himself and his staff.

The customer said that despite paying the initial RM120, he grew suspicious and requested a recalculation.

He alleged that staff initially refused the request to recalculate the bill, leaving him waiting for one hour before they discovered the actual total was only around RM70

"Only eating roti canai, yet being charged RM120? Your shop has no price display. Please lodge a police report. Return my money, why 'slaughter' me?" he said.

The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) in Negeri Sembilan stepped in to investigate the premises.

KPDN director Muhammad Zahir Mazlan confirmed that while the shop displayed price tags, they issued a goods information verification notice regarding the roti canai and roti telur prices

"Investigations found that the premises displayed price tags for each food item in a location easily visible to customers, in accordance with legal provisions," Muhammad Zahir said, according to the New Straits Times.

He added that the payment counter systems and sales records appeared consistent with the menu.

The restaurant has four working days to provide a formal response to the ministry.

While the situation required police presence, KPDN noted that the outlet provides official receipts for all transactions.
