A glove manufacturing giant in Sepang officially pulled the plug, leaving 1,426 employees without a job this April
According to the New Straits Times, WRP Asia Pacific Sdn Bhd issued termination notices effective 15 April 2026, as confirmed by a recent investigation by the Human Resources Ministry (KESUMA).
Among those affected were 304 Malaysians, while the remaining workforce consisted of foreign employees.

The ministry said the Peninsular Malaysia Labour Department (JTKSM) is keeping a close eye on the liquidation process
JTKSM held a meeting with the liquidator, the Social Security Organisation (PERKESO), and the police on 17 April.
While March 2026 salaries were settled, payments for April 2026 were being finalised by the Human Resources division.

A few Malaysian staff will stay on briefly to handle asset maintenance, financial matters, and document management
Meanwhile, the employer promised that food and housing for foreign workers would be maintained until they were relocated.
The ministry remains committed to ensuring all termination benefits and wage claims are handled via the proper Proof of Debt procedures.
Incorporated in 1985 as Wembley Rubber Products Sdn Bhd., the company was a leading global manufacturer of surgical, examination, specialty and industrial gloves with over 30 years of experience as a premium-quality glove manufacturer.
Unfortunately, soaring raw material costs and supply chain disruptions due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia have forced WRP Asia Pacific to begin winding down operations.
