The Selangor government has reopened applications for its RM1,000 Higher Education Institution Study Grant to help ease the financial burden of students starting their university journey

In a Facebook post on Monday, 30 March, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the one-off financial aid is specifically for first-year students studying at universities recognised by the state government.

"This year, the state government has allocated RM5 million, an increase from RM3 million the previous year, so that more students can benefit.

"Hopefully, this will help students pursue their studies with peace of mind, God willing," he said.
