Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor has sustained injuries after falling at home, her lawyer told the Federal Court today, 25 February

According to Berita Harian, senior lawyer Datuk Jagjit Singh, who represents Rosmah, said the defence is seeking an adjournment as his client was absent from court due to injuries sustained in the recent fall.

He informed the three-member panel, chaired by Datuk Nordin Hassan and joined by Datuk Che Mohd Ruzima Ghazali and Datuk Azimah Omar, that Rosmah had fallen but partially broke her fall, likely preventing more serious injuries.

"As a result, she suffered injuries to her hands and both knees.

"She refused to be admitted to the hospital despite being advised to do so and just wanted to rest at home," said the lawyer.

Malaysiakini quoted Azimah remarking, "If she can't attend court, she should be in a hospital, not at home."

Nordin then fixed 3 March for the hearing, expressing concern that the matter had already been prolonged.

The case, currently being appealed in the Federal Court, concerns Rosmah's bid to recuse the then High Court judge Datuk Mohamed Zaini Mazlan

Mohamed Zaini presided over her corruption trial linked to the RM1.25 billion solar hybrid project in Sarawak, where he convicted her and sentenced her to 10 years in prison and a RM970 million fine.

In her application, the 73-year-old is seeking either a retrial or for the case to be reheard before a different High Court judge, reported the New Straits Times.

She cited the alleged leak of a draft judgment, which she claims was prepared by another party before the decision was delivered on 1 September 2022, as grounds for requesting a retrial or rehearing.

During today's proceedings, Jagjit also said his client was seeking Nordin and Che Mohd Ruzima's recusal on the basis that both judges had previously presided over other matters involving her.

He said Rosmah was "uncomfortable" with the two judges hearing the matter.

However, Nordin dismissed the request, ruling that there was no real danger of bias.
