The government has introduced a series of financial measures to support the aviation sector amid rising global fuel prices and ongoing disruptions linked to Middle East tensions
According to Malay Mail, Transport Minister Anthony Loke announced the measures in a press conference yesterday, 14 April.
Loke said the package includes festive travel rebates for passengers and extended payment terms for airlines, aimed at maintaining air connectivity while easing pressure on both operators and travellers.

Loke said the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia will extend airlines' payment terms for aviation-related charges from 30 to 60 days, effective 1 May
He added that a RM50 airfare rebate will be offered for domestic travel between Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia during the Gawai and Kaamatan festive period.
The rebate applies to tickets purchased between 15 May and 14 June and is expected to benefit about 100,000 passengers.

Loke said the measures were finalised following engagement sessions between the Transport Ministry and industry stakeholders to ease financial pressure while ensuring continued service availability
"The government will continue to work closely with industry players to ensure the aviation sector remains resilient and responsive," he said.
