A pod of dolphins was recently spotted swimming off the waters of Port Klang, and the sighting included a particularly special guest: the rare pink Indo-Pacific humpback dolphin

The video, recently shared by Royal Selangor Yacht Club, shows several dolphins gliding through the water just off the coast, with one clearly displaying the distinctive pink hue the species is known for.

The Indo-Pacific humpback dolphin, sometimes called the 'pink dolphin', is commonly found in coastal waters across the region but is rarely spotted this close to busy port areas

Pods of dolphins have previously been seen in places like Pulau Langkawi and Pulau Tioman on several occasions.

Other marine visitors, including pilot whales and orcas, have also made appearances in locations such as Pulau Tioman, Pulau Perhentian, Sabah, Sarawak, and Terengganu.

In its post, the Royal Selangor Yacht Club reminded members that the waters around Port Klang are not just for boats and sailing

"As members of Royal Selangor Yacht Club, we share these waters with incredible marine life," the club wrote.

They also highlighted the importance of protecting the marine ecosystem, noting that members regularly take part in river and coastal clean-up efforts around Port Klang, including clearing debris from waterways and mangrove areas.

The club ended its post with a simple but meaningful message: sail responsibly and respect the wild.
