Rapid KL On-Demand (ROD) will introduce a fixed fare of RM2 per ride beginning 1 February

According to Bernama, the new fare will mark the end of the RM1 promotional rate and transition the service to a permanent pricing model.

Prasarana Malaysia Berhad's planning and strategy head, Sharul Azwa Abd Rani, said the new fare will also mark the end of the proof of concept (POC) period.

To expand coverage and strengthen operations, Prasarana plans to gradually introduce 300 electric vans into the ROD service between late 2027 and the end of 2028

Of the total, 130 vans will be deployed in the Klang Valley and 170 vans will operate in Penang.

"In the Klang Valley, 22 new zones will be added, while 23 new zones will be introduced in Penang," Sharul Azwa said, noting that ROD currently covers 71 zones in the Klang Valley and 11 zones in Penang.

She added that Prasarana is also focusing on improving ROD services for persons with disabilities, taking into account operational features and future planning.

According to Harian Metro, ROD achieved a total of 19,000 daily riders by the end of last year.
