Police have officially closed the investigation into the gas pipeline explosion in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya, that took place on 1 April

According to Bernama, the case has been classified as no further action (NFA) after a criminal probe found no signs of negligence or sabotage.

Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the decision is based on findings from technical and forensic investigations into the incident, which injured 150 people, displaced 538 people, and caused RM65.4 million of damage to residential properties.

"We are satisfied and are closing the case for now, but it can be reopened at any time should there be new information," he was quoted as saying today, 1 July.

According to Hussein, authorities found that nearby construction activities had complied with existing guidelines

He said the construction of shop lots and replacement of sewer pipes in the area complied with guidelines set by the Subang Jaya City Council, the Department of Environment (DOE), and PETRONAS.

He also reiterated that no elements of foul play, sabotage, or negligence were detected in the incident involving the underground gas pipeline.

However, police are still welcoming any new leads from the public.

"If anyone has further information, they are encouraged to come forward," Hussein said.
