Puchong MP Yeo Bee Yin and her husband Lee Yeow Seng have welcomed identical twin boys
In a Facebook post yesterday, 23 March, Yeo shared that the babies are monochorionic diamniotic (MCDA) twins, identical twins who share a single placenta but have separate amniotic sacs.
Writing from the twins' perspective, she said, "Carrying us was much more challenging for mummy, both physically and emotionally, compared to when she carried our three older brothers, especially at this age (42 years old)."
The twins were delivered on 14 March at 35 weeks, with Yeo saying they "were just too excited to meet everyone".
"God has been very good to us. The entire MCDA pregnancy went by without any major complications, and we were both born healthy," the post read.
Yeo married Lee, IOI Properties Group CEO, in March 2019, and gave birth to her first child in March 2020 while serving as the energy, science, technology, environment, and climate change minister
Following the announcement, Bagan MP and DAP adviser Lim Guan Eng congratulated Yeo on her safe delivery.
"A high five for all her five boys! Well done and wish her a speedy recovery from her smooth delivery!" he said in a Facebook post yesterday.
