The select seven UTCs will revert to 1pm to 10pm from 22 January, as compared to the current operating hours of 8am to 7pm, which came into effect since 1 January 2019.
Back in December 2018, operating hours for all UTCs was changed to 8am to 7pm after it was revealed that only 11% of customers use the centres after 7pm.
However, less than two weeks since the new operating hours came into effect, the Finance Ministry said it is implementing the new operational hours at select seven UTCs starting 22 January "as a measure to save public expenditure", reported Bernama.
