A US news anchor has gone viral after bravely continuing her broadcast despite going into labour live on air

Olivia Jaquith, a presenter for CBS6 Albany, was two days past her due date when her water broke in the newsroom during the morning segment on 21 May.

Instead of rushing to the hospital, Jaquith, 32, chose to go on air just 15 minutes later to deliver the early morning news.

The dedicated journalist completed the three-and-a-half-hour broadcast, even as a studio crew member in the control room displayed a message urging her to seek medical attention.

Her decision to stay on air showcased her unwavering professionalism, a move that quickly earned praise across social media platforms

Jaquith's commitment to her role, even as she prepared for motherhood, resonated with viewers.

"Moms are awesome! Always pushing through no matter what. Congrats on your little bundle of joy!" one person commented on YouTube.

Jaquith later shared that she had always intended to work right up until her baby arrived, but she did not anticipate such a dramatic start to labour. She has safely given birth to a baby boy, according to Huffington Post
