Prasarana Says Public Transport Improved In 2025, With More Upgrades In The Pipeline

More specifically, the operator noted a significant drop of 56% compared to last year. The LRT Kelana Jaya Line recorded 16 disruptions, down from 26 the year before, while the LRT Ampang Line logged just four incidents.

The MRT Kajang Line saw six disruptions, the Putrajaya Line had two, and the Monorail Line recorded three throughout the year.

"In 2025, we achieved an MKBF of 790,000km," he said at Prasarana's 2025 performance report and 2026 planning framework briefing.

"All lines showed positive performance improvements compared with the previous year," he added. Noting that the target is to reach one million km by the second quarter of 2026.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the 2026 target is to further reduce service disruptions across the network, with a focus on improving the performance of the Kelana Jaya Line.

Daily passenger trips peaked at 1.63 million on 31 December 2025, while average daily ridership for the year rose 11% to 1.31 million, from 1.18 million in 2024.

Amir said customer satisfaction stood at 88% , while net promoter score reached 47%, both representing a one-percentage-point improvement from 2024.

Rapid Bus' Level of Service availability also increased to 1,355 buses in 2025, from 1,165 a year earlier

This includes enhancements to Rapid On-Demand services rolled out during the year.

Fleet modernisation is ongoing, with 310 new diesel buses scheduled for full delivery by February 2026. Meanwhile, 250 electric buses under phase one are targeted for early delivery in March 2026.

Digitalisation efforts also saw encouraging uptake

The My50 monthly mass, converted into a Digital Transit Pass on 1 July, 2025, recorded a 37% usage rate in December among 254,329 monthly pass users.

Looking ahead, Prasarana said it aims to further reduce service disruptions and boost connectivity across its rail and bus networks under Rapid KL and Rapid Penang, in line with the government's target of achieving a 40% public transport modal share in the Klang Valley by 2030.
