Police in Kelantan recently raided a secret gathering in Kota Bharu that was reportedly attended by over 100 men
According to the New Straits Times, the event, held in mid-June at a rented bungalow in Kemumin, came under investigation following a public tip-off.
Kelantan police chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat said they believe the gathering was intended for illicit activities.
"Based on the information received, we formed a special task force to investigate and verify the claims.
"At around 1am on the day of the operation, police raided the premises and found just over 20 men still at the scene," he said during a press conference yesterday, 17 July.

While no sexual acts were witnessed during the raid, police found condoms and HIV medication at the scene
According to Mohd Yusoff, the items suggested possible preparations for sexual activity.
"Upon questioning, the attendees admitted to being part of a gay group," he told reporters.
The individuals involved, aged between 20 and 30, were Kelantan locals from various professions, and one man admitted to providing sexual services and tested positive for HIV.
Police believe the free-to-attend event was promoted through social media platforms.
Mohd Yusoff said police charged three of the men for possession of pornographic material on their mobile phones
However, according to Reuters, he said authorities could not prosecute the other men as there were no specific laws or physical evidence to charge them with.
Mohd Yusoff noted that this was the first time police had uncovered such a gathering in Kelantan, and added that surveillance will be intensified to curb similar activities in the future.
