Kuala Lumpur police chief Commissioner Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa stated that a post-mortem examination determined the cause of death as a chest injury resulting from a fall from a height.
He further confirmed that no criminal elements were found at the scene from where the body was discovered yesterday, 4 June, and the case has been classified as a sudden death.
"No criminal elements were found at the scene," he said.
The body was found face down with most of his clothes removed.
Identification was made by Johnson-Doyle's uncle, who recognised a distinctive tattoo on the deceased
The family had travelled to Malaysia earlier this week to assist in the search and identification process.
Police are urging the public to refrain from speculation and to come forward with any information on Johnson-Doyle's death that could assist in the ongoing investigation.
