Police have confirmed that a crocodile farming facility in Penampang, Sabah, is operating legally following the circulation of a viral video that sparked public concern
The clip showed a muddy pond teeming with crocodiles, prompting netizens to express alarm and fears over the safety of nearby residents, particularly in the event of flooding.
"Many people are afraid of swimming in the river or doing activities near here now," the video's caption read.

"Our inspection found that the farm is operating legally and holds a valid farming licence, as well as a permit to trade crocodile meat issued by the Sabah Wildlife Department," he said in a statement on Tuesday, 13 January.
He reiterated that the facility is properly licensed and urged the public not to speculate in ways that could cause unnecessary public anxiety, advising them to share accurate information responsibly.
Despite the clarification, the video has continued to draw concern from members of the public, with some calling for stronger enclosures and fencing at the breeding pens to enhance safety.
