A Malaysian woman unexpectedly discovered a tiny kitten seeking refuge inside her car engine amid the recent continuous downpour
In a post on Threads, she reminded Malaysians to stay vigilant, noting that small animals often crawl under warm car bonnets for shelter during cold, rainy weather.
"Guys, since it's been so cold this rainy season, some animals will definitely take shelter in our car engines. Please be alert. This little kitten ended up in mine because it has been raining all day.
"I was about to leave the parking lot when I heard meowing closeby. I didn't expect it to come from inside my engine! You have a long life, sweetheart. I stood in the rain just to look for you," she wrote.
She also shared photos and videos of the kitten wedged deep inside the engine bay, not knowing it was in danger.
The post has since gained over 60,000 views, with many netizens praising her for noticing the faint cries and saving the kitten, while others shared similar encounters
"The last video — it was so hungry! Thank you for saving it," said a Threads user.
"I just saved a kitten that had fallen out of the car engine that was in front of me. Luckily it wasn't run over," said another.
"I also rescued a kitten during the rain. Now she's the most important member of the house," said a netizen.
The Threads user later shared that the kitten has since been adopted into a new home
