People from all over the world expressed their sympathy on social media to the victims of the Brussels terror attack since the morning of 22 March

The trending hashtags #Brussels, #JeSuisBruxelles (*I am Brussels* in French) and #PrayForBelgium were shared with prayers, messages and photos for the victims. The locals also tweeted #ikwillhelpen (*I want to help* in Dutch) to offer accommodation and transport for the victims.

It was Ketevan Kardava, Georgian broadcaster and photographer, who was first to report the explosions heard in the Brussels Airport in Belgium

"*Doors and windows were flying. Everything was dust and smoke. Around me there were dozens of people without legs, lying in blood. I couldn't believe I still had my legs. I was in a state of shock*," said Kardava, according to TIME Magazine.

The Eiffel Tower and the Burj Khalifa in Dubai lit up in the black, red and yellow of Belgium's flag in solidarity for the victims of terrorism
