A man in Port Dickson died of a heart attack shortly after arriving at the scene of his teenage son's fatal motorcycle crash

The tragic incident occurred around 12.30am on Sunday, 6 July, when the 16-year-old boy was riding alone to a nearby petrol station in Taman Utama.

He is believed to have lost control of the motorcycle and crashed in front of the station. He died on the spot from severe head injuries, China Press reported.

His father, 43, rushed to the scene after being alerted.

Family members said he was devastated upon seeing his son's lifeless body.

After returning home and delivering the heartbreaking news to his family, the man — overcome with grief — turned pale and suddenly collapsed.

His wife, originally from the Philippines, attempted CPR while waiting for an ambulance. She said he still had a faint pulse when she began resuscitation. However, the ambulance only arrived about 30 minutes later. Despite efforts by paramedics en route to Port Dickson Hospital, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Both father and son were cremated together on Tuesday, 8 July, in Seremban

A joint wake was held at their family home, attended by friends, relatives, and the boy's classmates, who performed a farewell song in tribute.

The double tragedy has left the wife and her two young daughters, aged 11 and 8, without their main source of financial support.

Both girls are Malaysian citizens currently studying in Port Dickson.

Their grandfather, 71, said the family is now in a vulnerable position, having lost its only breadwinner.

"My son was the backbone of the family. Now, my daughter-in-law and granddaughters have lost everything," China Press quoted him as saying.

Sri Tanjung assemblyperson Rajasekaran Gunasekaran, who attended the wake, has pledged to support the two daughters

He also said he would follow up on their mother's citizenship application, which was submitted by her late husband years ago.

"Her citizenship process will take time, but we will continue to monitor and assist the family where we can," he said, wishing the family strength.
