Two weeks after Rosmah's statement, Pahang crown princess Tengku Puan Pahang shared a photo of a simple packet of mixed rice on Instagram, saying that it's all she can afford as her hairdresser is expensive

Tengku Puan Pahang shared the photo of rice, chicken and anchovies on 11 March 2015 with the caption "There goes my diet… I can only afford packed rice as my hairdresser is expensive!"

Social media immediately went wild. The photo went viral with Malaysians taking the remark as a sarcastic jab at Rosmah.

On Twitter, Malaysians celebrated Tengku Puan Pahang's wit, sarcasm, and class in mocking wasteful behaviour.

Many immediately flocked to her Instagram account to look at the comment for themselves, but the photo caption had been edited

The caption was edited to only read "There goes my diet…." an hour after it was posted.

24 hours after the photo had been posted, Tengku Puan Pahang's Instagram account had been deleted too
