Over 400 Arrested In Police Raid Of Suspected Scam Call Centre In Bangsar South

Police have confirmed carrying out a raid in Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday, 26 August, detaining more than 400 people believed to be linked to a scam call syndicate

According to China Press, the syndicate, involving both local and foreign suspects, allegedly ran online scams and gambling operations across five floors of the commercial building.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Commissioner Datuk Fadil Marsus confirmed the arrests but declined to share further details, New Straits Times reported.

"Investigations are ongoing since it involves a large number of arrests. A special press conference will be held soon," he told reporters on Thursday, 28 August.

Photos circulating online showed dozens of suspects being escorted into police trucks parked outside the building, drawing public attention

According to The Vibes, the syndicate may be one of the largest operating in the capital.
