[OFFICIAL] Amirudin Crushes PN Candidate By Securing 5,185 More Votes In Sungai Tua Seat

Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, the caretaker Selangor menteri besar (MB), has officially won the Sungai Tua state assembly seat

The Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate won with 19,678 votes, or 56.9% of the total votes, reported Myundi.

Amirudin secured 5,185 more votes than Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate Hanif Jamaluddin, who secured 14,493 votes, or 41.9% of the total votes.

Meanwhile, independent candidate Suman Gopal received 430 votes.

The Election Commission's (EC) official website stated that Sungai Tua has 49,055 eligible voters, which brings today's total turnout rate in the area to 70.5%.

On 18 July, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said Amirudin will be retained as the Selangor MB should PH win the state election, reported New Strats Times.
