PKR deputy president Nurul Izzah Anwar has pledged to assemble a team of lawyers to support a young boy who was allegedly sexually assaulted by a celebrity ustaz
In a Facebook post, Nurul Izzah shared that the boy, who comes from a B40 family, was allegedly lured by the ustaz under the pretext of watching a nasyid performance together in a hotel room.
"He used the boy's interest in nasyid as an excuse, but it was merely a cover for his vile intentions," she wrote.
According to Nurul Izzah, the boy agreed to go along as the ustaz was a well-respected, religious figure.
However, things took a disturbing turn when the man allegedly placed his hands in the boy's pants and touched him inappropriately.
"Confused, frightened, and alone, the boy pushed him away and locked himself in a bathroom for five hours," she said. He later managed to escape and contact his family, who filed a police report.

The ustaz, however, has since filed a defamation suit against the victim's family, demanding a public apology and financial compensation amounting to hundreds of thousands of ringgit
"This family is from the B40 group. They have little to no savings. They were in tears, asking Allah why they were being tested so harshly," Nurul Izzah wrote.
In response, she pledged to provide the family with legal representation and ensure that justice is pursued
"The boy once dreamed of becoming a teacher and contributing positively to society. But now, he is traumatised — he attends regular counselling, relies on medication, and is struggling academically," she said.
Nurul Izzah also revealed that several previous police reports had been lodged against the same ustaz, but no action was taken against him.
