North Korea has initiated a severe crackdown on women with breast implants, labelling the cosmetic procedure as 'bourgeois' and 'un-socialist'
According to a report by The Telegraph, the country's security services are conducting invasive checks.
Local neighbourhood watch units have been ordered to identify women with noticeable physical changes and report them for examinations.

Under Kim Jong Un's regime, breast augmentation and double-eyelid surgery are considered illegal 'non-socialist acts', with those found guilty facing harsh penalties
The crackdown was highlighted by a recent public trial held at a cultural centre in Sariwon.

A doctor and two women in their 20s were put on trial for performing and receiving illegal breast surgeries
Prosecutors claimed the women had become 'tainted by bourgeois customs' and were 'engaging in rotten capitalist behaviour' for wanting to improve their figures.
During the trial, a judge described one defendant as a 'poisonous weed that was eating away at the socialist system', promising strict punishment.
The case has reportedly left many women in the region living in fear of being subjected to similar checks.
