The Zika virus is a very big threat to everyone's health. There are 6 reported cases in the Philippines so far.

Zika virus infection is commonly transmitted to people through the bite of an infected mosquito Aedes aegypti, the same mosquito that carries dengue. It continues to spread across Central and South America, Mexico, and even parts of Asia.

Pregnant women are at a higher risk. The virus may cause birth defects such as microcephaly or the abnormal smallness of the head

Aside from catching the virus from zika-infected mosquitos, it may also be transferred to you through unprotected sex.

In line with this, Senate health commissioner Senator Risa Hontiveros urges the government to distribute an anti-Zika virus kit to barangay's health units

Aside from mosquito repellants, the kit will also include contraceptives such as condoms.

The senator explains that in other countries this is the common health advise since the virus may be transmitted sexually.

However, Fr. Anton Pascual of Caritas Manila is opposing condoms to be included in the kit

On an interview for Bandila, Fr. Anton says, "Why would we stop two people from loving each other just because of mosquitoes? Let's use mosquito nets, insect repellents and pray instead."

Do you agree with Senator Risa that condoms should be included in the kit? Or do you side with Fr. Anton to use other alternatives instead?
