The stretch between Shah Alam and Subang on the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) was severely congested at noon today, 24 November, due to floods caused by heavy downpour
A road user, identified only as Adam, told SAYS it took him two hours to travel from Klang to Kuala Lumpur, a journey that normally takes about an hour.
"I departed from Bukit Tinggi, Klang at 11.40am and expected to arrive at my venue in Taman Tun Dr Ismail (TTDI) around 12.40pm.
"However, Waze diverted me off NKVE and routed me through small inner Meru–Kapar roads before reconnecting me to the Damansara–Shah Alam Elevated (DASH) Expressway.
"My ETA on Waze kept being pushed back, and I arrived at TTDI at 1.40pm, 40 minutes late for my meeting!" said Adam.
As early as 9.04am today, PLUS Expressway reported that flash floods had affected the left lane of the road leading to the Shah Alam toll plaza from the Guthrie Corridor Expressway (GCE).

In an X post at 4.21pm today, PLUS Expressway announced that the right and middle lanes in both directions along the Shah Alam–Subang stretch have now reopened
However, the expressway operator still advised road users to use alternative routes as the northbound traffic is congested for 6km.
Similarly, the southbound traffic is slow for 3km.
If you are wondering whether you should use NKVE to get home after work, be sure to check for the latest update on PLUS Expressway traffic update X account @plustrafik here.
The account provides updates frequently, usually once every hour, on a specific area if there is pre-existing congestion.
This provides valuable insight to help you decide whether to use the expressway, as GPS systems like Waze and Google Maps may suggest less-than-ideal routes under unusual conditions like today.
Alternatively, if you wish to get visual updates of the expressway, you can visit the Malaysian Highway Authority's official website here.
It provides real-time screenshots of CCTV footage of NKVE and 32 other expressways nationwide.
As of 4.57pm, the stretch between Shah Alam and Subang remains congested, with several lanes still submerged in floodwaters at KM9.45.
