Ninja Van will begin implementing a new surcharge of RM1.95 per kg for all successful deliveries starting today, 13 April

The logistics company cited rising global fuel prices as the primary driver for this sudden cost adjustment.

The price hike stemmed from ongoing geopolitical tensions in West Asia, which have caused oil prices to surge globally.

The conflict has created a ripple effect, increasing operational costs across various services and sectors. Consequently, logistics firms are finding it increasingly difficult to maintain their standard pricing structures.

Ninja Van said it will review and update the additional surcharge every week

According to Sin Chew Daily, the company promised to keep users informed of any price changes to ensure transparency during this period of market volatility.

The measure aims to help the company navigate the fluctuating energy landscape.

Ninja Van is not the only courier service feeling the heat from the current global situation

Pos Malaysia previously announced it would introduce a 40% increase in surcharges for delivery services starting 18 March due to the same economic pressures.

Both major players in the logistics sector are now adjusting to the rising costs of fuel on a weekly basis.

As shipping fees climb, Malaysian consumers may see a corresponding increase in the final price of their online purchases.
