NGO Rescues 3 Stray Dogs Found With Their Heads Stuck In Plastic Containers
One of the dogs had a plastic container stuck on its head since December 2024.

The first dog was discovered on 18 May in Bukit Damansara, Petaling Jaya by a local resident named Chong.
She alerted the animal welfare NGO, KC Valley, informing them that the brown-furred stray had had its head stuck in a plastic container for the past four days.
However, rescuing the dog, named Willow, was no easy task.
With the assistance of a diverse group of residents and KC Valley volunteers, including locals and foreigners, the rescue effort took seven days to complete.
Willow had endured the ordeal for at least 11 days
The rescue involved extensive tracking, running, physical strength, and various tools in order to safely secure Willow, who likely did not understand that the rescuers were there to help.
They had to approach cautiously yet swiftly to catch Willow, or risk her escaping into the wild.
"The rescue area was vast, covering jungle, mountain, football field, and more.
"Due to the long hours of rescue, some rescuers' family members became anxious and complained," KC Valley recounted.
Some members involved in the rescue suffered muscle cramps and minor cuts due to thick and horny underbrush.
After a week of determined effort involving at least nine volunteers, Willow was finally rescued.
The diverse group of residents and KC Valley volunteers held a celebratory dinner after successfully rescuing Willow following a week-long effort.

In a separate case, a dog named Kouna was rescued in Ipoh after a local feeder found her with her head stuck in a plastic container
Kouna was found in Kawasan Perindustrian Tasek by a resident named Yap, who contacted KC Valley on 2 June.
It was estimated that the brown-furred stray had been trapped in the container for about three days.
At approximately 7.10am last Monday, 3 June, Yap informed the NGO that Kouna had been spotted waiting for food alongside other strays.
One of the KC Valley members, Aerden, who happened to be nearby, asked Yap to remain on standby. They noticed Kouna wandering away from the group and slipping into nearby bushes, heading deeper into the jungle.
Aerden pursued her and eventually found Kouna sitting beside a small pool of water, staring at it longingly, clearly desperate for a drink. As she began to move again, Aerden followed closely behind. When she paused momentarily, he managed to capture a photograph of her in the jungle.
"He tried to approach from behind, but access was blocked. When he circled around, [Kouna] disappeared again. Eventually, he found her about 10ft away, heading towards a small road.
"Fortunately, she stopped briefly, and Aerden quickly lunged forward and managed to net her," KC Valley wrote.

The third dog and the most recent case was also a brown-furred stray named Nozoki
Nozoki's head was said to have been stuck in a plastic container since December 2024 in Taiping, and attempts to rescue it by members of the public had been unsuccessful.
"Fortunately, this clever dog managed to crack a hole on the side of the container. Otherwise, she might have died a long time ago," KC Valley wrote.
She was rescued on Wednesday, 11 June, by a KC Valley member and four local residents.
Nozoki is described to be tame and is currently on medication for infections. She is now ready for adoption, and further details can be found here.

As of 11 June, KC Valley has completed 325 rescue missions, involving cases of stray animals that were abused, injured in road accidents, or found in unusual situations such as having their heads stuck in plastic containers
Speaking to SAYS, the NGO's vice president, Chia Boon Woo, said that Willow, Kouna, and Nozoki were likely in similar predicaments because they had attempted to eat food from the containers.
All three dogs were sent to veterinary clinics for treatment and neutering. Willow and Kouna have been released back to their original locations, allowing them to reunite with their companions and continue living in a familiar environment.
KC Valley is a registered NGO under its official name, Persatuan Kegembiraan Haiwan Lembah. It operates the KC Valley Animal Care Shelter and the KC Valley Rescue Team, the latter of which is a mobile unit that travels to various locations to rescue and neuter stray animals.
